The attack launched on the Iran by the United States and Israel is a clear rejection of international law, an attack without excuse, and the Irish Communist Party/Páirtí Cumannach Éireann condemns it unequivocally and calls on the Irish and British Governments to boycott diplomatic relations with Israel.
The main reason for this appalling war, and the many civilian deaths it will entail, is to instigate a regime change in government in Iran in favour of US and Israeli policy, and to weaken the Palestinian resistance to Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing.
But the bombing of a girls’ school in south Iran, with over a hundred dead the vast majority of whom were children, marks a new low in the depravity of the US and Israel in their aggressive campaigns to dictate how the world should be organised.
Mealy-mouthed expressions of concern aren’t enough, and the Irish and British government should out-rightly condemn this barbarity; Britain is actually boasting of its complicity.

Irish communists raise our voice with those who demand that Shannon airport be closed to the US war machine and that we should not be complicit in any way in what the US and Israel are doing.
Further, if there were any doubts before it is clear now that Israel cannot be treated as a normal state. It is a fount of terror.
The Irish soccer authorities FAI should not go ahead with any match against Israel and should renew its demand on UEFA that Israel be excluded from the competition.
Equally, it is deeply disappointing that the GAA has turned a deaf ear to the calls from senior figures in the association that the GAA’s association with Allianz be ended as Allianz is a major supporter of Israeli terrorism.
Innocent children, who know nothing of politics, have died, and more will die. Morality demands we take a stand and reject this war whatever the cost in finance or sporting opportunity. The ICP sends our condolences to the working people of Iran and greetings of solidarity to the Tudeh party at this devastating time,
